Join the GNST Youth Laser Biathlon Team for the 2026-27 Season
Laser biathlon gives young skiers the chance to experience the sport of biathlon using modified laser rifles. The rifles look and feel like traditional biathlon rifles, but use lasers instead of ammunition, making them quiet and specifically designed for training and fun. No previous shooting experience is required!
This additional winter program combines skate skiing, shooting, and biathlon skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Designed as an additional 7-part program specific for youth interested in training for biathlon. No previous shooting experience is required. This program is open to U12 youth or older (10-18yo), that are currently enrolled in GNST programs (Jets, Prep, Comp, Teen Adventure) and are competent on skate skis. Other youth meeting these requirements but not currently enrolled may be able to join as space allows and with coach approval.

This additional winter program combines skate skiing, shooting, and biathlon skills in a fun and supportive environment. This winter we have two options for skiers, the Youth Laser Team (ages 10-12) and the Laser Biathlon Team (ages 13-18).
Programs may be postponed or rescheduled due to low or no snow.
Interested in helping? We are also looking for volunteers to help with range setup, ski flow, timing, and other aspects of the program. No biathlon experience is necessary to volunteer — just a willingness to help and learn!

Youth Laser Biathlon Team — Ages 10–12
- 6-session program
- Mondays, January 11–February 15, 4:00–6:00 PM
- Open to Junior Jets skiers who are competent on skate skis
- Limited to 20 skiers
Laser Biathlon Team — Ages 13–18
- 8-session program
- Fridays, January 8–February 26, 4:00–6:00 PM
- Open to Prep Team, Teen Adventure, and Comp Team skiers who are competent on skate skis
- Limited to 20 skiers
Date TBD: Seeley Lake Biathlon (fees not included)
February 21st: 10am Glacier Meltdown Laser Biathlon Race
Location: Both programs will primarily take place at the Glacer Nordic Center located at the Whitefish Lake Golf Course, with Dog Creek as a secondary location.

Are There Adult Programs?
Adult Biathlon Builder Program
For any intermediate/advanced skiers seeking the next step, this is a 5-part series with a focus on biathlon and tactics for being fast and accurate. No previous shooting experience required. *Limited to 10 skiers.

- Session 1: Sunday, January 10 from 10 am to 12pm
- Session 2: Sunday, January 18 from 10 am to 12 pm
- Session 3: Sunday, January 25 from 10 am to 12 pm
- Session 4: Sunday, February 8 from 10am to 12pm
- Session 5: Sunday, February 15 from 10am to 12pm for the Glacier Laser Race

Cost: $200

Laser Rifle Information
Glacier Nordic Club is offering several ways to experience the sport of biathlon using “laser” biathlon rifles supplied by the U.S. Biathlon Association. Laser rifles look and feel like a regular biathlon rifle, but there are no “bullets” or loud “shots” and therefore none of the normal safety concerns associated with rifles.
*In the event of low/no snow conditions, programs may be postponed until a later date.
Biathlon Volunteers Needed!
If you have some biathlon experience, want to support biathlon in the Flathead, or just want to learn more, we need help setting up the range, managing the ski flow, assisting with timing and much more.
