2025 Great Fish Community Challenge
We are excited to join a record number of Flathead Valley nonprofits for this year’s Great Fish Community Challenge! From August 12 to September 12, 85 nonprofits will collaborate to raise funds for critical projects and programs throughout the Flathead Valley.
August 12 – Launch Party at Glacier Bank Park – 5:00 – 7:30 pm – ALL WELCOME
August 19 – Pop-up Donation Station at Whitefish Credit Union, Columbia Falls, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
August 21 – Pop-up Donation Station at Harvest Foods, Bigfork, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
August 22 – Great Fish on Air, KGEZ from 7 to 10:30 a.m.
August 26 – Pop-up Donation Station at Glacier Bank, Lakeside, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
August 28 – Pop-up Donation Station at First Interstate Bank, Downtown Kalispell, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
September 2 – Pop-up Donation Station at Stockman Bank, Whitefish, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
September 4 – Pop-up Donation Station at First Interstate Bank, Whitefish, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
September 9 – Pop-up Donation Station at Park Side Credit Union, Columbia Falls, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
September 11 – Pop-up Donation Station, Three Rivers Bank, E. Idaho Street, Kalispell, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
September 12 – Great Fish Community Challenge Closes at 5 pm
How the Challenge Works
This charitable giving campaign is entirely managed by the Whitefish Community Foundation. It processes all donations, designating 100% of your donation dollars to Glacier Nordic or any other non-profit you choose. For each dollar you donate, Whitefish Community Foundation will award an additional percentage match on the first $20,000 we raise. Over the past five years, the match has ranged from 48% to 53%.
Three Ways to Donate
- Make an online donation at greatfishchallenge.org
- Download the 2025 calendar of events at greatfishchallenge.org to make your gift by check and/or sign up for the run.
- Make a gift of stock or via an IRA rollover by contacting the Whitefish Community Foundation office at 406.863.1781.
Incentive Grants & Information
Matching Incentive Grant
Great Fish Launch Party:
Maximize your gift to Glacier Nordic Club or one of 84 other Flathead Valley nonprofits and be entered into a raffle drawing to win one of five $1,000 grants for the participating nonprofit of your choice.
Biggest Catch Incentive Grants
Weekly Biggest Catch: Each week, all nonprofits that achieve a specified number of unduplicated donors during that week will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $2,500 incentive grant. The incentive grant period runs from Friday to Thursday at midnight each week during the campaign.
Two $2,500 drawings will be held on the last day of the Challenge. These nonprofits will be entered into the drawing:

- Nonprofits receiving gifts during the Challenge from first-time Flathead Valley donors who gave $25 or more.
- Nonprofits receiving gifts during the Challenge from donors who gave $25 or more to 4 or more nonprofits.
