Round Meadows

Grooming Report

Volunteers groom 12 miles of classic and skate trails about once a week or after large storms. For updated grooming reports please call the forest service at 406.758.5204, Mon–Fri, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. While you’re on the phone, express your appreciation for the groomed trails.

Round Meadow Trail Map (PDF)

Round Meadows is located on Forest Service lands (Tally Lake Ranger District) 12 miles west of Whitefish. It has seven trail loops and a total of 12 miles of easy to advanced terrain. Visit the the Forest Service website for more information on Round Meadows.

Directions

Round Meadows is located in the Tally Lake Ranger District within the Flathead National Forest. To get to Round Meadows, take Hwy 93 North out of Whitefish for approximately 10 miles. At the Round Meadow sign, turn west onto Farm to Market Road and drive one mile. Turn right onto Star Meadows Road and drive one mile. Turn right into parking lot at the Round Meadow sign.

North Shore Nordic – Blacktail & Bigfork

Visit the North Shore Nordic Club website for the most current trail reports at Blacktail Mountain Nordic Trails (located In Lakeside, MT) and at Bigfork Community Nordic Center (located at Foothills Road and Jewel Basin).

Dog Creek Lodge & Nordic

The Nordic Center at Dog Creek Lodge is located in Olney, Montana, which is approximately 20 miles north of Whitefish, MT on Highway 93 N.  The  trail system was established in 2014 and currently has up to 27 kilometers of trails groomed daily for both skating and classic skiing as well as fat biking. Dog Creek Lodge website.
